As a direct consequence of the flooding, we have been forced to cancel our Humane Heroes Summer Camp for the safety of both our staff and the children involved. Additionally, half of our dedicated team members are currently trapped in various locations and unable to make it to NCAL. Consequently, we have been compelled to close our shelter for the entire week, resulting in a significant loss of income totaling over $5,000.
These unforeseen circumstances have put us in a precarious situation, jeopardizing our ability to provide the essential care and support our shelter animals, like adoptable dog Mocha, pictured above, so desperately need. We rely heavily on the funds generated from programs like the summer camp to cover operational expenses, including veterinary care, food, and shelter maintenance. Losing this crucial income puts us at risk of being unable to sustain our vital operations.
This is where we humbly turn to you, our compassionate and generous supporters, for help. We understand that these floods have affected many in our community, and we fully recognize that everyone’s capacity to give may vary. However, if you find it within your means, we kindly ask for your support in helping us bridge this $5,000 income gap this month.
No amount is too small, as every single dollar makes a significant difference. A contribution of $5, $25, $50, or even $500 can go a long way in ensuring that we can continue providing a safe haven for our shelter animals and giving them a second chance at life. Your generosity will help us maintain our operations, cover immediate expenses, and support the ongoing well-being of the animals in our care.
