Routes: Century, Metric Century, Fun Ride & Tips

Pedal for Paws gives cyclists three ride options. There will be four rest stops along the Century Route and two along the Metric Century where riders can take a break, have a snack and top off their waterbottles. The rest stops are also an opportunity to "reassemble" groups of riders who have gotten spread out along the route. Here's what riders can expect:

The Century Ride

The Century route begins in the quintessential Vermont resort town of Stowe and heads north through Morrisville, then Hyde Park and up Route 100 through Eden to Troy where it turns east to Coventry and south on Route 14 past scenic Craftsbury to Wolcott Road, then west on Route 15 to Rt 15A into Morrisville and back south on Randolph Road into Stowe.

The Metric Century Ride

The Metric Century follows the same route out but turns west in Eden towards Waterville, then south to Johnson were riders have the option to turn east on Route 15 back to Hyde Park and Morrisville then south on Randolph Road back to Stowe.

The Fun Ride

The Fun Ride follows the same route to start but turns east on Route 15 in Hyde Park then south on Route 15A in Morrisville and follows Randolph Road back to Stowe. When back in Stowe the course does a tour around Stowe ending up back at the Start/Finish.

Training Tips

Both novice and experienced riders should prepare for the ride by building up their training regiman in the weeks leading up to the ride. If you want to learn more about riding in cycling events, check out the wealth of tips and information on Active.com.
